Blue Ray discs
are a new form of high volume media, with the same size and shape as standard CDs and DVDs but containing much more data. Standard Blue Ray discs hold 25 GB of data, while dual layer Blue Rays hold 50 GB of data.

Initially, Blue Ray discs were available only in a bulky cartridge that protected the disc from scratches and fingerprints. This was because the data of Blue Ray discs is so tightly compressed that it is more prone to external damage. Now TDK has released a technology called Durabis - a hard coating to protect the Blue Ray disc from external physical damage.

The recordable portion of ordinary blank CD-R and DVD-R is made out of organic material that is heated with a laser, but the recordable portion of Blue Ray discs is made out of a special non-organic material so that it isn’t affected by exposure to light. Therefore, the discs are ideal for archiving large amounts of crucial data.

Now Blue Ray discs are capable of being recorded at 2x speed, combining the high content with greater speed for mass production.

Blue Ray discs are also available in BD-R or BD-RE rewritable form. The Blue Ray discs have a special new material with high sensitivity to phase change that allows for thousands of rewrites with a minimal error rate.

We provide Blue Ray discs as well as the Blue Ray recording drives. If you are interested in purchasing this new technology or learning more about it, please contact us.
