Mini CDs or Mini Round CDs are 80mm discs. They contain 193 MB data (22 minutes audio) of data rather than the usual 700 MB data (80 minutes audio) that normal sized discs hold.
The initial purpose of the Mini CD was for audio singles. Mini CDs are used as a fashionable alternative to standard size blank CDs. The smaller size is ideal for presentations without a great amount of data.
Mini CDs are compatible with most standard CD drives. There is a groove in the tray of most CD drives that forms a ring in the middle of the tray. This is where a Mini CD sits. The hub size for Mini CDs is the same as that of normal discs, so they can be stored using the same packaging and spindles, and they can be labeled with the same CD label applicators as standard discs.
Another type of specialty disc we carry is the Business Card CD, which is also called the Hockey Rink CD because of its shape.
