Mini DVDs are miniature round DVDs similar to Mini Round CDs. They are only 80 mm or 3 inches in diameter. Because they are smaller, they don’t hold as much content as regular DVDs. Mini DVDs only hold 1.4 GB of data (about 30 minutes of video time) rather than the 4.7 GB capacity of standard sized DVDs (2 hours).
Mini DVDs were originally developed to be used with camcorders. They are small enough to fit in camcorders, and they have many advantages over other camcorder media. They eliminate the hassle and time of connecting to the computer, transferring the video files, and then creating the DVD using separate software. With Mini DVDs, this is all done in one step – the DVD is burned inside the camcorder and quickly finalized for immediate playback and editing. Since Mini DVDs can be played in most DVD players, there is no need to create a separate DVD, although the data can be transferred if desired.

Mini DVDs are labeled the same way other DVDs and CDs are labeled. For inkjet or thermal printers, there are adapter kits to fit the size of the DVD. If one wishes to use sticker labels, we carry the labels and templates necessary to fit your disc. Labels can be made either to cover the DVD hub or leave it open.
